How to Fix HMS 0300-0D00-0001-000B: Filament Tangle or Feed Resistance Error

Bambu Lab HMS error code 0300-0D00-0001-000B is an extrusion resistance fault in the 0300-0D00 extrusion monitoring subgroup. While 0001-0003 typically indicates a nozzle-side clog, suffix 0001-000B suggests the resistance is encountered upstream — in the filament path from the spool or AMS to the extruder — pointing to a filament tangle, excessive friction in the PTFE tube, or a kinked Bowden path.

What the Error Means

The 0300-0D00 subgroup monitors extruder load as a proxy for filament flow conditions. Suffix 0001-000B indicates the extruder motor is working significantly harder than expected for the commanded print speed and material, suggesting resistance in the filament supply path rather than at the nozzle itself. A tangled spool, a crushed or kinked PTFE tube, debris in the filament tube, or excessive filament path length and bends can all elevate feed resistance to the point where the printer flags it as an error.

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Pause the print and observe the filament path from the spool or AMS all the way to the toolhead entry point.
  2. Check the spool for tangles — a crossover tangle where filament winds over itself can suddenly lock and prevent the spool from unspooling freely.
  3. Inspect the Bowden tube or filament path tubes for kinks, crushing, or tight bends. Even a gentle permanent kink introduces significant friction.
  4. Disconnect the PTFE tube at both ends and manually pull a short length of filament through it. It should slide with very little resistance.
  5. Look for debris or filament fragments inside the PTFE tube. Flush with compressed air.
  6. Check the tube fittings — a partially loose fitting allows the tube to push back under feeding pressure, creating a gap and increased resistance.
  7. Resume printing and monitor the extruder for smooth, consistent feeding.

Parts Required

  • Replacement PTFE tube if kinks or damage are found
  • Push-fit tube fittings if connections are loose
